More than surfing

Local restaurants and cafés serve Moroccan staples like tagine, couscous and fresh seafood, often with Berber influences. Must-try local specialties:

• Msemen — a flaky, folded flatbread often enjoyed with honey or cheese
• Harira — a warming tomato-and-lentil soup, great after a cooler surf session
• Merguez — spicy lamb sausage, grilled and served with bread or salads

Taghazout is also well placed for day trips: Agadir for markets and beaches, Parc Souss-Massa for birdwatching, or Tiznit for traditional silverwork and crafts.
